  • CARRIE UNDERWOOD IS MY AMERICAN IDOL!!!

    I want to marry her.

I can't wait till June 14th to buy her single.

I set out on a narrow way
    Many years ago
Hoping I would find true love
    Along the broken road
But I got lost a time or two
Wiped my brow and kept pushing through
I couldn't see how every sign
    Pointed straight to you

    Every long lost dream
Led me to where you are
    Others who broke my heart
    They were like northern stars
    Pointing me on my way
    Into your loving arms
This much I know is true
That God blessed the broken road
That led me straight to you

I think about the years I spent
    Just passing through
I'd like to have the time I lost
And give it back to you
But you just smile and take my hand
    You've been there
    You understand
It's all part of a grander plan
    That is coming true

    Every long lost dream
Led me to where you are
    Others who broke my heart
    They were like northern stars
    Pointing me on my way
    Into your loving arms
This much I know is true
That God blessed the broken road
That led me straight to you

    Now I'm just rollin home
    Into my lover's arms
This much I know is true
That God blessed the broken road
That led me straight to you

That God blessed the broken road
That led me straight to you

I've been down, but now I'm blessed
I felt a revelation commin around
    I guess it's right, it's so amazing
Everytime I see you, I'm alive
You're all I got, you lift me up
    The sun and the moonlight
All my dreams are in your eyes

I, wanna be inside your heaven
Take me to the place you cry from
When the storm blows you away
I, wanna be the arms to hold you
Every bit of air you're breathing in, a soothing wind
I wanna be inside you heaven

When minutes turn to days and years
If mountains fall I'll still be here
Holding you, until the day I die

I, wanna be inside your heaven
Take me to the place you cry from
When the storm blows you away

I, wanna be inside your heaven
Take me to the place you cry from
When the storm blows you away
I, wanna be the arms to hold you
Every bit of air you're breathing in, a soothing wind
I wanna be inside your heaven

    Ooh yes I do
I wanna be inside, you heaven

  • In a few weeks...

A year has past and now we stand on the brink of returning to a world where we are surrounded by the paradox of everything yet nothing being the same. In a few weeks we will reluctantly give our hugs and, fighting the tears, say goodbye to the people who were once just names on a sheet of paper to return to people that we hugged and fought tears to say goodbye to before we ever left. We will leave our best friends to return to our best friends. We will go back to places we came from and go back to the same things we did last summer and every summer before. We will come into town on that same familiar road, and even thought it has been months, it will seem like only yesterday.

As you walk into your old bedroom, every emotion will pass through you as you reflect on the way your life has changed and the person you have become. You suddenly realize that the things that were most important to you a year ago don't seem to matter so much anymore, and the things you hold highest now, no one at home will completely understand. Who will you call first? Where are you going to work? Who will be at the party Saturday night? What has everyone been up to? Who from school will you keep in touch with? How long before you actually start missing people barging in without calling or knocking? Who will get breadsticks with you at three in the morning? How long until you adjust to sleeping in a room by yourself, or how long before you realize your three best friends aren't in the bed next to your room?

Then you realize how much things have changed, you realize the hardest part of college is balancing the two completely different worlds you now live in, trying desperately to hold on to everything all the while trying to figure out what you have to leave behind. In the matter of one day's traveling time, we will leave our world of living next door to our best friends, walking across campus to eat, instant messenger, 8:00 classes, and perpetual procrastination to a world that will seem foreign to us despite the fact that we have lived in it for nineteen years.

But it is different now... We now know the meaning of true friendship. We know whom we have kept in touch with over the past year and whom we hold dearest to our hearts. We've left our high school worlds to deal with the real world. We have had our hearts broken, we've fallen in love, we've helped our best friends through the toughest times of their lives, something even their best friends at home couldn't be there for. We've stayed up all night just to be there for a friend. We've partied the night away, doing stupid stuff, but we were always there for each other afterwards. There have been times when we've felt so helpless being hours away from home when we know our families or friends needed us most, and there are times when we know we have made a difference.

A few weeks from now we will leave. A few weeks from now we take down our pictures, and pack up our clothes. No more going next door to do nothing for hours on end. We will leave our friends whose random emails and phone calls will bring us to laughter and tears this summer. We will take our memories and dreams and put them away for now, saving them for our return to this world.

A few weeks from now from now we will arrive. A few weeks from now we will unpack our bags and have dinner with our families. We will drive over to our best friend's house and do nothing for hours on end. We will return to the same friends whose random emails and phone calls have brought us laughter and tears over the past year. We will unpack old memories and dreams that have been put away for the past year.

A few weeks from now we will dig deep inside to find the strength and conviction to adjust to change and still keep each other close. And somehow, in someway, we will find our place between these two worlds.

In a few weeks.... are you ready?

  • Ok... So American Idol tonight?

    AWESOME!!!

Carrie did so amazing.  And it was so much fun watching with Erica and Jack.  Erica's new kitten is so cute.  He looks like Mittens only a grey fur rather than black.  He was so tiny!

I had a really great night.

    I'm very happy.

  • Wow.

    So Cedar Point on Saturday?

    Freakin amazing!

I love that place so much, and I can't believe it's only my 3rd time there.  I need to buy a season pass this year so bad!

Helen, Nichole, Eric, V, Courtney, and I all went from Lincoln.  We hung out together most of the time, except when we seperated into smaller groups when one or two people didn't want to ride a ride.

We started out with the Magnum.  Oh, how I love the Magnum. Then we traversed to Mean Streak followed by Gemini.  Next we hit up The Corkscrew and while the rest of them went on the Power Tower I went and got my Dippin' Dots.  The group split at this point and Helen, Nichole, Courtney and I headed to Millenium Force while V, Eric, and Kathy (from Morrill) went on the Mantis.  The line was too long for my taste so Helen and I went and saw a show instead.  Then we went on the Iron Dragon, Bumper Cars, Carousel, and Blue Streak all while Courtney and Nichole waited in line.  Courtney and I then headed over to the Raptor while Nichole and Helen headed over to Dragster to meet up with Eric, V, and Kathy.  After Raptor, Courtney and I went on Iron Dragon (a 2nd time for me, lol) and the Corkscrew again.  We met up with Helen then who was waiting for the rest of the gang to ride the Dragster.  They got off with just moments to spare before we had to be back at the opposite side of the park.  So Nichole and I ran to meet up with the group while Helen got Cotton Candy, Courtney and Kathy went last minute shopping and Eric and V did the same.  Eric and V were the last ones back and once they got there we left.

Upon getting home I called up Ryan G and we went grocery shopping at Giant Eagle.  Then he came over for a little bit and then we went to Mirror Lake.

Sunday was a day of work, haha, I know it's supposed to be a day of rest, but Saturday was mine.  I did manage to take some time to watch The Grudge when I first woke up and then headed over to Jack's later that night to watch The Notebook, Desperate Housewives, and Grey's Anatomy.

Monday was a sucky day back into the real world with lab and chemistry.  But Monday night Richard and I watched Elf and some Smallville.

Then today was another boring day of class.  But tonight I'm heading over to Erica's to watch American Idol with her and Jack.  So that should be fun!  Hopefully Carrie wins, but we won't know that till tomorrow.

Also, I hate the UPN.  Why didn't they inform us that this was the last season of Charmed.  I watched the finale and I'm like, this feels like a Series Finale, not a season finale.  I was right too, cause at the end they changed their looks and they didn't look the same!

Well I'm off to workout now, so later folks.

  • Cedar Point... Here I come!!!

Bradley and I went and saw Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith on Thursday.  It was amazing.  I love Star Wars... haha.  Glad it's over though so I can stop being a geek aobut it.  Where did I put my Lightsaber though?  Oh!  That's right!  I killed Richard with it earlier and so it's still sticking in his side...  Oops!  There, got it.

Today there was a carnival and I went for Jim cause he was partially in charge.  It was fun.  Then Ryan and I went and got lunch.

Jon, Richard, and I went to Circuit City, Media Play, and Cold Stone Creamery tonight.  There were these like 6th graders there acting like whores and pimps, it was bad.  We were making fun of them.  It's like, wow, you suck at life.  Nice earings and cell phone clip.  You feel old now?  Mommy gave you a cell phone.  Oh wow, what a nice bike you rode over here on.  Acting all big and tough on your bike.  HAHA.  What complete idiots.  It was funny.

I worked on Kate's puzzle then.  Amy and I completed it, with a little help from Ryan G(who was completely drunk and couldn't get any of the pieces in the right places).  I hope Kate isn't mad that it's done already, it only took us like 4 days or something like that, lol.

  • Well, it was an ok weekend.

Friday night I went to the Lincoln Formal, which was nice and all.  Then I went over to Ryan's and played some Mario Party.

Saturday I went and did Rock The Block with Nicole, Helen, and Nathan.  It was a lot of fun.  We had to clean up Thompson Park but completed our work early and so we went to a nursing home to help that group mulch.  We went back to campus then and they fed us free pizza.  Saw a bunch of people I knew there including Steve Keen and Chris Sedgwick.

Then Saturday night I went and saw 42nd Street.  It was pretty good.

Today, I have a paper to write... Boo...

May 1, 2005

  • Ok, what an amazing weekend I had!

It was so nice having the room to myself as well, lol.

Friday night I went with V to the zoo for free!  It was pretty cool.  Got lots of food anyway.  The animals were a little difficult to see since it was dark.  But we did get to see a manitee and a bunch of Australian nocturnal animals as well as some reptiles.  Otherwise you could sometimes hear animals around you, but apparently the zoo isn't designed to be open after dark because there we no lights.  At some points when walking you had to use your cell phone as a flashlight.

Saturday was also awesome.  Went to a birthday party for Susan and then went over to Jason's to watch Episode II.  I met this girl Cecilia who I knew from Key Club because she was in Mrs. Eddy's group!  It's like, we went on two vacations together, haha.  It was a really enjoyable time, floor 22 represented well.  We also kicked some butt at Catchphrase, but maybe it's because we knew each other so well.

Then today I went down and made Buckeye's and sang Karaoke for a program.  We had excess Chocolate so I made Chocolate Covered Pretzels, I couldn't believe no one else thought of it.
